A false ceiling, as the name suggests, is a ceiling that is not actually one. Also called as dropped ceiing, it is a layer that is created below the actual ceiling for reasons, both functional and decorative. Owing to their versatility, false ceilings have (almost) become de rigueur in today's interior schemes.
